Responsibilities:
Operate a profitable and efficient general merchandise department.
Accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, building a loyal clientele, displaying and advertising.
Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
Establish and maintain procedures to safeguard inventory.
Serve as liaison with factory representatives.
Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the General Merchandise department.
